Biography

Ewald Hasler was a cyclist from Liechtenstein who competed in races during the first half of the 1950s. In 1952 Hasler and fellow cyclist Alois Lampert were the only two athletes sent by Liechtenstein to compete at the Helsinki Olympics, where Hasler finished 43rd in the individual road race. He had more success back home, however, becoming the national road race champion the following year.

By trade Hasler was an electrician, eventually starting his own business in the municipality of Eschen in 1965. After starting small, the company became one of the most successful in the sector in the country. Two of his sons, Markus and Patrick, worked for the company, with both of them going on to compete in cross-country skiing for Liechtenstein at the Olympics.
