In the early 1920s Wiktor Hoechsmann was one of the best road cyclists in Poland. Hoechsmann finished second in the road race at the 1921 national championships before winning three consecutive titles. These performances earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1924 Paris Games, although he did not finish in the road race due to a mechanical problem. Later that same year Hoechsmann competed at the UCI Road World Championships, where he finished 19th.
