Biography
Gheorghe Caranfil won the Romanian championship in foil four times – 1924, 1926, 1928, and 1931. He competed at the 1928 Olympics in both foil and épée. He represented Cercul Militar Bucureşti. His brother Nicolae Caranfil, also competed in Olympic fencing for Romania.
