Biography

Brooke Makler came from a fencing family, as his father, Paul, and brother, Todd, both competed at the Olympics in fencing. Makler attended the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in 1973, and winning the NCAA title in foil his senior year. He won two medals at the Pan American Games, with gold in team épée and a silver in team foil in 1975. Makler also competed at the World Championships in 1973 and 1975. He competed for Salle Csiszar.
