Biography

Cătălina Cristea was a Romanian tennis player who played professionally from 1990 to 1995. Cristea achieved a career-best singles ranking of 59 in the world in July 1997, and a doubles ranking of 40 in the world in August 1998.

Cristea won six doubles tournaments on the ITF circuit during her career with her first coming in September 1991 in Cluj. She also one WTA doubles final with victory at the 1999 Warsaw Cup by Heros. Cristea was part of Romania’s Fed Cup team where she had a win-loss record of 20–13. Cristea played in the singles at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics but lost her first round match to Anke Huber of Germany.
