Biography

Nathaniel Semple played both singles and doubles at the 1904 Olympics. Semple graduated from William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri, and then earned a medical degree from Washington University in St. Louis. He did post-graduate study at the University of Kiel (Germany) in 1900-01 and at the Université de Paris in 1902. Semple specialized in diseases of the eye. He died quite young due to complications from diabetes.
