Biography

Stefania Świerzy was a Polish gymnast at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, and also competed at the 1954 World Championships. She represented Pogoń Nowy Bytom (1947-1957), Górnik Zabrze (1958), and GTG Bytom (1959). Świerzy won nine Polish championships – all-round (1952, 1954), floor exercises (1952, 1958), uneven parallel bars (1952, 1954), horse vault (1952, 1954), and balance beam (1953). In her career she earned 22 international caps. She later became a gymnastics coach.
