Biography

Alena Chadimová took up gymnastics after World War II and was eventually selected to represent Czechoslovakia at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. There, she won a bronze medal in the team all-around, had a joint-sixth finish with her country in the team portable apparatus, and experienced a best individual finish of 20th in the individual all-around and the floor exercise (in the latter with Gun Röring of Sweden). She also captured a bronze medal in the team all-around at the 1954 World Championships, and was a multiple national champion, but missed the 1956 Melbourne Games due to pregnancy. She later worked as a coach.
