Biography

Reinhard Dietze was a member of the West German male gymnast team that finished fifth at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. He also placed 56th in the individual all-around but missed the apparatus finals. The same year he earned his only West German national title winning on horizontal bars. He was also an excellent unicycle driver and won several national titles in that sport.

Dietze was a graduated sports teacher working with the West German NOC. At the beginning of the 21st century, Reinhard Dietze and his former teammates often performed with the show and fun gymnastics group “Los Barros” in various events and television programs. He died in 2007 after a severe illness at only 52-years-old.
