Biography

Cox Igor Polyakov began competing in rowing in 1928, while studying at the Moskva Radiomechanical Technikum. The high point of his career came at the 1952 Olympics, where he coxed the Soviet eight to a silver medal. Polyakov was also a six-time Soviet champion. After finishing his sporting career, he worked as a rowing coach.
