Biography

Laurel Korholz competed in rowing at the 1996, 2000, and 2004 Olympic Games, winning a silver medal in the eight in 2004. Korholz rowed at seven World Championships, in 1994-95, 1997-99, and 2002-03. She won two medals in the eight, a silver in 1994, and a gold in 1995. She also won gold medals in the eight at the 1996 Lucerne International Regatta and 1996 Mannheim International Regatta.

Korholz started college at Wesleyan University, but transferred to U Cal Berkeley, graduating from there in 1993. Korholz became a coach, joining the US women’s team as an assistant in April 2005. She coached the US quad scullers to a bronze medal at the 2012 Olympics and to a World Championship gold medal in 2015.
