Torontonian George Vivian’s greatest success in trap shooting came at the 1908 Summer Olympics where, alongside George Beattie, Walter Ewing, Mylie Fletcher, David McMackon, and Arthur Westover, he won a silver medal in the team event. He also competed individually and finished joint-20th, with William Morris of Great Britain. He committed suicide by gunshot shortly after his 64th birthday, for unknown reasons.
