André Regaud was the older brother of Francisque Romain Regaud, a Doctor of Law and member of the French parliament from 1919-25. André worked as a designer and went to the United States in 1896. His son Jean was born in Syracuse, NY, in 1899, who later studied at the École des Beaux Arts in Paris to become an architect.
After his return, André Regaud competed in non-medal events at the 1900 Olympics in Paris still representing the USA probably being a member of an American club. He went on to compete at the 1908, 1912 and 1920 Olympic Games wearing the French colours. There, he competed mainly in pistol events but had his greatest success in the small-bore rifle, team event in London in 1908. He also won four silver and four bronze medals at world championships from 1908-23, seven of them in pistol events and just one with the military rifle.
