Biography

Konstantinos Skarlatos completed the military academy in 1892 to become an officer and began his career as Second Lieutenant of the artillery. During the next three decades, he served in the Greco-Turkish War, the Balkan Wars and the Asia Minor Campaign. In 1921 he was appointed head of the military academy. He retired in the rank of lieutenant general.

He competed in pistol and revolver events at the 1906 Intercalated Games at Athens and at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm. In 1906 he claimed gold in the Dueling Pistol Au Commandement event. Six years later, he placed fifth in two pistol team events. In 1926 he was elected president and one year later vice-president of the Panathinaikos sports club. In these positions he took an active role in remodelling the stadium.
