Ole Sæther was a three-time Olympian in 1900, 1908, and 1912 winning medals on all three occasions in free rifle events including one gold in 1908. In addition he claimed silver at the World Championships in 1900, also in Paris, again in a free rifle team event. With his wife Svanhild he had one son and one daughter. As both were born in Oslo, the family seems to have lived there already shortly after the turn of the century.
