Biography

Grete Adler was an Austrian swimmer who won the bronze medal with the 4x100 metres freestyle relay squad at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics alongside Klara Milch, Fini Sticker, and Berta Zahourek. They were the Austria’s first female medallist in Olympic history. Adler became the youngest ever female Austrian Summer Olympic medallist at the age of 16 years and 152 days. She also competed in the 100 metres but was eliminated in the heats.

At Paris 12 years later, Adler participated as a diver in the plain high event but failed to reach the final. Two years later she won the European Championships.
