Biography

Sabine Rantzsch competed at the 800 freestyle event at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. She swam for SC DHfK Leipzig but failed to make the final at the Olympics. She twice was on the podium at the East German nationals over this distance in 1968 and 1969. In 1968 she became the first East German swimmer under 10 minutes for 800 metres.
