Biography

Karl-Rüdiger Mann was a long distance freestyler. He narrowly missed the 1,500 metres final at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics as the fastest non-qualifier, only 1.6 seconds out of the final. The same year he won his only East German title at this distance.
