Biography

Diver Claudia Bockner reached the springboard final at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics as the only German participant, and eventually placed 11th. She collected two individual bronze medals at the 1994 World Championships and the 1995 Europeans. Bockner also won the inaugural synchronized springboard gold medal, partnering Conny Schmalfuß, at the 1997 Europeans.

Bockner won the German national springboard title in 1995 and 1996, and the synchronized springboard title with Schmalfuß in 1997. She also added two indoor individual, and three synchronized titles. At Youth European Championships she also won one silver (1990) and two bronze medals (1988 and 1989).
