Biography

Diver Suse Heinze finished seventh in the 3 metre springboard competition at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. She was the youngest diver in the German Olympic team and became the last German survivor of the Berlin Games. In 1938 she was third in the 10 metre platform at the 1938 European Championships. Heinze won the German platform championship in 1937 and 1938, and as Suse von Hartungen, again in 1952 and 1953. She was also the German springboard champion 1951-53. Before her death in 2018, Heinze was the oldest living German Olympian.
