Biography

Reinhard Blechert was a backstroke swimmer who finished seventh in the 100 backstroke at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics and was eliminated in the heats of the 200 back. He also finished sixth with the 4x100 medley relay. In 1968 and 1969 Blechert won West German national titles in the 100 back, and in 1965 and 1969 won the 200 metres. He swam for Wasserfreunde Wuppertal.
