Biography

Janet Ely was a diver at the University of Michigan, graduating in 1972, where she was trained by renowned coach Dick Kimball. Ely won the US title on platform at the AAU outdoor meet in 1972 and 1975. Her biggest win ever was the 1975 World Championship on platform. She also won a silver on platform at the 1975 Pan American Games. Ely later became a diving coach for the Mission Viejo Nadadores in California.
