Biography

Jan Henne started out as a breaststroke swimmer but became an Olympic freestyle champion, although she never won a U.S. national title at freestyle. Apart from the four events in which she won medals at the 1968 Olympics, she also swam in the heats of the medley relay. She won nine AAU titles, set eight U.S. records and, while attending Arizona State, won four events at the 1970 AIAW championships.
