Biography

Bob Bennett took the NCAA 100y backstroke title for Southern Cal in 1963 and 1964, and was the AAU indoor champion in 1964. In 1961, he set a world record for the 100m backstroke. In addition to his individual Olympic events, he swam in the heats of the medley relay at both Rome and Tokyo, and in 1960 was a member of the relay team which set a world record in the heats before a completely different U.S. foursome bettered the record in the final.
