Biography

After graduating from Florida State in 1971, Phil Boggs joined the Air Force and at the time of the 1976 Olympics he held the rank of captain. He is the only man to have won the 3 m springboard at the World Championships three times (1973, 1975 and 1978). At the Pan American Games he won two silver medals in 3 m springboard (1975 and 1979) and bronze in platform (1979). Additionally Boggs was five times an AAU champion and won the NCAA in 1971. Boggs left the service in 1976 and attended the University of Michigan Law School.
