Biography

After winning his heat of the 400m freestyle at the Paris Olympics, Ralph Breyer withdrew from the semi-finals but won a gold medal, later in the Games, as a member of the world record breaking relay team. Breyer attended Northwestern and won two freestyle titles at the inaugural NCAA championships in 1924. He added a third NCAA championship in 1925.
