Biography

Rich Schroeder was a breaststroker who swam at the 1984 and 1988 Olympics, winning gold medals both years in the medley relay, swimming in the heats in 1984, but in the final in 1988. Schroeder swam for UC Santa Barbara, graduating in 1986. Schroeder twice competed at the Pan Pacific Championships, winning silvers in the 100 breaststroke in 1987 and 1989, and a gold in the 1987 medley relay. Schroeder won the 1987 US title in the 100 breaststroke, and was second in that event in 1984 and 1988.
