Russian sportsman Viktor Borshch had a lengthy career in volleyball both as a player and a coach. Borshch began his playing career in 1963, later representing CSKA Moskva from 1969 until 1978 and winning nine consecutive Soviet championships from 1970 to 1978. From 1972 to 1974 he played for the national team, winning bronze at the München Olympics and silver at the 1974 World Championships. Following his playing career Borshch coached several teams in the Soviet Union before spending more than 20 years coaching clubs in Germany.
