Biography

Ahmet Şenol was a Turkish wrestler who competed at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics, making the top six at both Olympics, but missing the podium both times. He was a lieutenant in the Turkish Army from 1947-50. Şenol wrestled in college in the United States, for Purdue University, and was the Big 10 Conference Champion in 1956. He stayed in the USA, becoming an educator and coach. He worked as principal of the Coolidge School in the Hamilton City School System in Ohio for 28 years, retiring in 1988. He also was a wrestling coach at Taft High School and youth director at the YMCA for five years.
