Larry O’Connor had the following podium finishes at major championships: 1st in the 1938 British Empire Games 4×110 yards Relay (with John Loaring and the non-Olympians Jack Brown and Pat Haley), 2nd in the 1938 British Empire Games 120 yards Hurdles. He also finished fourth in the 1938 British Empire Games 220 yards.
