Biography

Danish middle-distance runner Albert Larsen won 17 national titles, set ten national records, and competed at two Olympic Games. Larsen was undefeated in the 1,500 metres at the Danish championships from 1923 to 1930, becoming the first Dane to run the distance in under four minutes. In addition to his eight titles in the 1,500 metres he also won seven titles in the 800 metres (1925–27, 1929–30, 1933–34), and two titles in the 400 metres (1933–34). Despite his national success Larsen did not have the same results at the Olympics. He ran in both the 800 metres and 1,500 metres at the 1924 Paris and 1928 Amsterdam Games but only advanced from the opening heat in the 800 metres in Paris.

Personal Bests: 800 – 1:56.0 (1930); 1500 – 3:59.2 (1930).
