Biography

Jean-Claude Nallet was best known as a 400 metre hurdler who competed at the 1968 and 1976 Olympic Games. At only 19-years-old, Nallet’s international career began at the 1966 European Championships when he placed third in the 200 metres.

Nallet won a silver medal at the 1969 European Championships in the 400 metres, and helped France win gold in the 4x400 metre relay. He was gold medalist in the 400 hurdles at the 1971 Europeans, and at the 1974 European Championships he took silver in his primary event. His French record of 48.94 (auto-timed) lasted until 1990, when bettered by Stéphane Diagana.

Personal Bests: 400 – 45.1 (1970); 400H – 48.6h (1970); 48.94 (1974).
