Biography

Wilfriede Hoffmann placed eighth with the mixed German team at the 1960 Rome Olympic Games in the shot put. She also placed fifth at the 1962 European Championships. Domestically Hoffmann was East German champion in shot put in 1954-56, and in discus throw in 1955, also earning several runner-ups in both disciplines. She was a sports teacher by profession.

Personal Best: SP – 16.51 (1962).
