Biography

Albert Werkmüller was a German gymnast, footballer and track athlete. With his club BFC Preussen Berlin he won the Berlin Football Championships in 1900. He also participated at the “First General German Football Day” on 28 January 1900 when the German Football Association was founded. The same year he participated in the 2nd Olympic Games in Paris. He was eliminated in the heats of the 200 metres and 100 metre handicap, but finished second in the 400 metre handicap. Werkmüller won the German High School Championships over 100 metres in 1902-03, and came in second at the 1900 German Championships.
