Domingo Torralva and his brother Luis were Chile’s top tennis players during the 1920s. Domingo, the older of the two, took up tennis as a student and in 1923 won the third edition of the Miter Cup, the first South American international tennis tournament. This contributed to his selection to represent Chile at the 1924 Paris Olympics, where he was eliminated in round of the singles by Eduardo Flaquer of Spain. In the doubles, he and Luis defeated a Romanian duo in round one, before losing to a South African pair in round two.
After graduating with a degree in architecture from the University of Chile in 1926, Domingo (as well as Luis) moved to France to practice their profession. While there they maintained their contacts in the tennis world and Domingo played at Roland Garros in 1927 and from 1929 through 1931, losing his first match each time. He had the same results at the Davis Cup in 1928 and 1929, with the brothers becoming the first Chileans to take part in that tournament. They later settled in Argentina.
