Biography

Fred Heckwolf competed for the Missouri AC. A sprinter, Heckwolf finished fifth in the 1904 Olympic 100 metres. He also competed in eight other known non-Olympic events during the 1904 St. Louis Louisiana Purchase Exposition, all considered demonstration events. In those, he recorded four second places – in the Olympic Open Handicap 100 yards, the Olympics Irish Sports 100 and 220 yards, and the Western AAU 100 yards. He also had two third place finishes, in the Western AAU 220 yards and the Western Handicap 100 yards. Heckwolf was a St. Louis native.

Personal Best: 100 – 11.6 (1904).
