Biography

Zulejka Stefanini was a Croatian sportswoman and artist. Stefanini was a prolific champion in multiple sports including swimming, athletics, diving, and gymnastics winning 14 different trophies. In athletics Stefanini set national records in the 80 metres hurdles, 200 metres hurdles, high jump, shot put, and javelin. Stefanini competed in the 80 metres hurdles at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, representing Yugoslavia. She finished in last place in her heat and did not advance to the final. In gymnastics Stefanini was the national champion in 1933 and 1935. Outside of sports Stefanini was a sculptor and ceramicist. She was a member of the Croatian Association of Fine Artists of Applied Arts.
