Biography

East German cross-country skier Renate Dannhauer-Borges from Zella-Mehlis in East Germany competed at the 1960 Squaw Valley and the 1964 Innsbruck Winter Olympics. She finished fifth and fourth, respectively, in the 3x5 km relay. Individually she placed 16th in the 10 km in 1960, and 15th in the 5 km and 14th in the 10 km in 1964. She won East German national titles in the 5 km in 1961 and 1963, and in the 10 km in 1959-61 and 1963. In 1961, 1963 and 1964 she added three relay titles with her home club SC Motor Zella-Mehlis. Renate was married to her teammate Rudolf Dannhauer.
