Biography

Sigrun Krause had her greatest moment winning the bronze medal at the 1976 Winter Olympics in the cross-country relay. She had won a relay silver medal at the 1974 World Championships. Krause won several national championships: 1974 (5 km), 1973 and 1975 (10 km); and was runner-up in the 5 km in 1975 and 1977, the 10 km in 1977-78, and the 1974 15 km. She is the mother of cross-country skier Jens Filbrich.
