Dorota Tlałka-Mogore came from a sporting family. Her father, Jan, was a 16-time Polish champion in speed skating, and her mother, Stanisława, was a keen skier. Both Dorota and her twin sister Małgorzata took up skiing from a young age, competing at the World Cup, World Championships, and the Olympics. Dorota was a four-time Polish champion, winning the slalom (1981), giant slalom (1980, 1982), and the combined (1982). In 1984 she competed in the slalom and giant slalom at the Sarajevo Olympics, placing 30th in the latter. At the end of the year, she finished first in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, achieving the first World Cup win in Polish women’s Alpine skiing.
On 12 October 1985 Dorota and Małgorzata married French brothers Christian (a sports journalist) and Christophe Mogore (a racing cyclist), respectively, and the pairs became French citizens in June 1986. Now representing France, Dorota finished as a runner-up at the national championships in both 1987 and 1988. That same year she competed for France in the slalom at the Calgary Olympics, placing eighth. After retiring she lived in the French ski resort of Méribel with her family.
