Biography

Vladimír Caldr played right wing almost exclusively in the Czechoslovak and Czech leagues, but had two seasons in the Netherlands near the end of his career. He started out in 1976 with Motor České Budějovice, playing with them through 1989, although he spent the 1986-87 season with HC Dukla Jihlava. He then moved to Amsterdam. Playing two years with the Amsterdam Tigers and Amsterdam Fix. Caldr finished his career in the Czech Republic with Stadion Hradec Králové in 1992-93, and with HC České Budějovice in 1993-94. His first two international appearances for Czechoslovakia were at the World Junior Championships in 1977 and 1978. In addition to his 1984 Olympic silver medal, he played at the 1983 and 1986 World Championships, winning a silver medal in 1983. He also skated for the national side at the 1987 Canada Cup.
