Biography

Dudley Dorival was born in the United States to Haitian parents. He competed in college at the University of Connecticut, graduating in 1997, and earning four All-American honors. Primarily a high hurdler he competed for the United States through 1998, placing second at the 1994 World Junior Championships, and seventh at the 1998 Goodwill Games. He took Haitian citizenship on 29 July 1999 and thereafter competed for Haiti.

A three-time Olympian who placed seventh in the 2000 110 metre hurdles, Dorival won a bronze medal in the event at the 2001 World Championships. Internationally his biggest titles were winning gold in the 110 hurdles at the 2001 Jeux de la Francophone and the 2002 Central American and Caribbean Games.

Dorival later became a track coach. He coached at Princeton University and Princeton High School, then became an assistant track & field and cross-country coach at Rider University, specializing in the sprints and hurdles.

Personal Best: 110H – 13.25 (2001).
