Biography

Adam Krzysztofiak greatest international success came as a junior, when he won a bronze medal at the 1969 European Junior Championships. With the seniors, he never medalled, but competed in two World Championships (1970, 1974) and two Olympics. At home, he won four Polish national titles, and twice the Bronisław Czech and Helena Marusarzówna Memorial.

Krzysztofiak, a brick layer by trade, ended his career in 1980. He then became a coach for young ski jumpers, and among others taught Robert Mateja to jump. In the last years of his life, Adam Krzysztofiak suffered greatly from a lung disease.
