Biography

Otto, brother of Alois Leodolter competed for about 10 years at ski jumping’s top level. During this time he participated in three Olympics and the highlight of his career was the bronze medal he won in ski jumping at the 1960 Squaw Valley Games. As this event also doubled as the World Championships he is also listed as bronze medalist there. This medal was the first ever Austrian ski jumping medal.

In the Four Hills tournament Leodolter finished second (1960-61) and third (1959-60) in overall, but never won an individual event in these competitions. Among many other archievements Leodolter set a hill record with 71.5 metres at Holmenkollen in 1959 and won four Austrian titles in 1958-59 and 1961-62. In 1996 he was awarded a Decoration of Merit in Gold for Services to the Republic of Austria.
