Biography

Hans Lindner was an Austrian hammer thrower who participated in three Olympic Summer Games from 1984 at Los Angeles to 1992 at Barcelona. He placed tenth at Seoul in 1988 and ninth in 1992. At Los Angeles he failed to reach the final. Lindner won the Austrian national title fourteen years in a row from 1981-94.

In 1984, Lindner also participated in the Winter Olympics at Sarajevo as a bobsledder. He partnered Werner Delle-Karth in the two-men bob and they placed a disappointing 12th. With the four-men bob Austria I he was also disappointing in tenth place. Lindner’s greatest moment came in 1990 when he won the gold medal at the European Championships in the four-men bob. He had previously won a bronze medal in 1982.

Personal Best: HT – 79.70 (1987).
