Biography

Mexican tennis player Patricia Montaño had a brief career towards the end of the 1960s, which saw her compete at several international sporting events including the 1968 Olympics. Montaño won gold in the doubles and silver in the singles at the 1966 Central American and Caribbean Games. The following year she just missed out on a medal at the Pan American Games, losing the bronze-medal match in the doubles. In 1968 tennis was played as a demonstration sport at the Mexico City Olympics with Montaño competing in several singles and doubles events. Her best performance at the Games came in the doubles with Lourdes Góngora, with the pair finishing fourth.
