Biography

Flatwater canoeist Kurt Liebhart finished sixth with Engelbert Lulla in the Canadian doubles over 1,000 metres at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. The duo then won the gold medal two years later at the World Championships. Liebhart returned to the Olympics at Rome in 1960 partnering Herwig Dirnböck. The pair placed ninth, and last, in the C2 final over 1,000 metres.
