British tennis player Kyle Spencer played professionally from 1998 to 2005 but only won two doubles titles on the ATP Challenger and ITF Futures Circuit during his career. Spencer’s doubles success was reflected in his career-best ranking of #126 in the world, which he achieved in July 2000, compared to a career-best singles ranking of #953 in the world in September 1998. He won his first doubles title in July 1998 at the USA F4 tournament in Tallahassee with Cecil Mamiit. Less than a year later, he won his second and final title when he and fellow British player James Davidson won the Great Britain F3 tournament in Eastbourne.
In July 2000 Spencer was a runner-up at an ATP Tour event when he and Mitch Sprengelmeyer reached the final of the Hall of Fame tournament in Newport, Rhode Island. A few months later he and Barry Cowan played in the doubles at the Sydney Olympics, but lost in the first round to the Russian pair of Yevgeny Kafelnikov and Marat Safin. Spencer later worked as a tennis coach in the United States, working with college teams at both the University of Maryland and North Carolina State University.
