Biography

Jared Palmer was a professional tennis player mostly known as a doubles specialist. He competed in doubles at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, alongside Alex O’Brien. Palmer attended Stanford and won the 1991 NCAA singles title and then turned pro.

Palmer won 28 doubles titles in his ATP Tour career, also winning one singles title. He won two Grand Slams in doubles, at the 1995 Australian Open and 2001 Wimbledon, added an ATP Masters 1000 win at the 2000 Indian Wells tournament, and won the mixed doubles at the 2000 Australian Open. He lost in the doubles finals at Wimbledon in 1999 and the US Open in 2001.

Palmer was world ranked #1, starting in March 2000. His highest singles ranking was #35, which came in November 1994. He retired from competitive tennis after the 2005 season.
