Biography

Heini Meng had a long career in the Swiss National League A, playing from 1921-38 as both a right wing and center. He played for HC Davos from 1921-34, moving to Grasshopper Club Zürich in 1934, playing for them through the end of his career, and also playing for Zürich Selects for a few years. He captained both HC Davos and the Swiss National Team. Meng competed for Switzerland at the 1924-26 European Championships, winning a gold medal in 1926 and bronze medals in 1924-25. He played in the Spengler Cup tournament from 1927-35, helping HC Davos win that title in 1927 and 1933, and helping them to Swiss titles in 1926-27 and 1929-34.
